Ipadian iOS simulators for Windows allow you to run your favorite iOS apps on your Windows computer. Isn’t cool to have your iPad apps run on the rival Windows machines? Yes, that is possible with the emulators. Just like the Android emulators like Genymotion make it possible to run Android apps on Windows, you can use the iOS emulators to achieve the same purpose.

However, iOS and Windows have far different features that will make it impossible for any emulators give a true iOS experience on a Windows PC. A true emulator should be able to run all iOS apps on a Windows computer but in reality, there is no single simulator exists that achieves this.
iPadian – an iOS UI Simulator for Windows PC
iPadian is one of the popular apps that bring iOS user interface to Microsoft Windows, giving an iPad kind of feeling for your PC. The beauty of this system is, it does not make any changes to your computer. Instead, it is a stand-alone desktop application for Windows, that opens up a screen which look like an iPad user interface, but still working with your Windows files and applications only. iPadian is an open source project, which can be downloaded as a compressed file of 35Mb from Google Code.
Is iPadian a real iOS Simulator for Windows PC
In the true sense, iPadian is not an iOS simulator. It just simulates iOS user interface on your Windows PC. It is desktop application developed using Adobe Air and is not a true emulator that allow you to run any iPad apps on Windows computer. You will not be able to play your iPad apps or access iTunes on your computer using this software. iPadian provides access to a virtual app store that gives the feeling you are using iOS app store but behind the scenes it is just a packaged set of apps that run on Windows. It has nothing to do with iOS.
Organize your Windows 8 desktop like iPad Home screen
I tried using iPadian on my Windows 8 computer and it seem to be a good option to organize the start screen of Windows 8 which many people do not prefer to use. Here is a screenshot from my Windows 8 laptop, which runs iPadian and shows the desktop shortcuts in a much better interface than the new Windows 8 start screen:
Access To The App Store
It is not possible to download apps from iTunes since iPhone, iPad and iPod apps are encrypted with Apple’s FairPlay DRM technology. What the guys at iPadian have done is to create a custom app store that currently contains slightly over 300 hundred popular apps, such as Facebook, WhatsApp, Angry Birds, Cut The Rope and many more. They continue to add apps to the store based on user demand. The store has 8 app categories as the screen shot below shows.
Do The Apps Work?
Using Windows 7, I tested out a few of the apps in the custom store to see if they worked and found that the majority are fully functional. In addition to the browser and Gmail which are available in Windows, I tested out several other apps to see how they functioned.
The iPadian Instagram app allows you to log into Instagram using the web-based API. Thus, while you can browse your photos, view/change your account details and manage authorized applications, you won’t be able to upload any photos.
Spotify
Among the 34 music apps in the iPadian app store, Spotify is one of those that work very well.
Kik Messenger
The iPadian store currently has 21 networking apps and Kik Messenger is the the only messaging app that actually works.
Facebook & WhatsApp
However, much as I tried to use the Facebook app, it didn’t work for me. The app gets stuck trying to connect to the server and always ends in a failed connection attempt. The custom WhatsApp app also has its fair share of issues. It actually isn’t a real application. iPadian uses a free web interface to WhatsApp that allows you to send someone a free WhatsApp message right from your desktop. The service they use does not work.
System Requirements
The minimum specs to run iPadian on your Windows PC are:
- Windows XP and above
- The download file is 35 MB
- At least 512 MB RAM but 1GB is recommended for best performance
- You also need Adobe Air installed on your PC

Conclusion
iPadian is not an iOS emulator in the same way that Genymotion & Bluestacks emulates Android. We are yet to see a real emulator with access to Apple’s App Store. At the most, iPadian simulates the look and feel of an iOS device and at the least it’s like using iOS skins for Windows, with the added bonus of actually being able to use a couple of popular apps. But, despite this, it has no touch-screen support so you won’t be able to use a touch-screen monitor on Windows 8. For now you are limited to point-and-click with the mouse.
Emulate iOS Safari browser in PC
If you just want to check how your website will look in a Safari browser in an iPad or iPhone, here is a better choice. Visit the website http://ipadpeek.com. Just type the url of the website you want to check and press ENTER. It will show how the specific website will be rendered in an iOS device.

Do you wish you could run iOS apps on Windows? You’re not alone and let me be frank: it’s not possible. Here’s what is possible, though.
The fluid, intuitive and aesthetically pleasing user interface, as well as a wide selection of high quality apps, have earned iOS many fans. Since Apple does not permit an open app market, access to the App Store is restricted to iOS devices. The closest you will get to running iOS on Windows, is a simulator that provides you with a similar look and feel as Apple’s original.

Meet iPadian
iPadian is a free iPad simulator for PCs running Windows XP or higher. It overlays itself on your desktop and requires no installation, you simply download the file from the iPadian website orcnet.com, extract the archive and run the ipadian.exe file. It launches an alternative desktop that looks and feels like an iPad home screen.
On this new desktop you will find a dock bar at the bottom of the screen and a power button at the top right corner of the screen, which allows you to exit the application. You still have accessibility to the Windows taskbar by clicking on the icon at the bottom right, as shown in the screen capture below. The application is ad-supported, so you will occasionally see JavaScript pop-up ads.

- Guys, there is another emulator out there called windowsxpro or something similar, which does really make it LOOK like Mac OSX El Capitan, but don't be fooled. Despite having a sleek interface and allowing me to still access the windows features of my PC, when I decided to uninstall it, it completely wiped my computer and destroyed my windows 10 OS. It sounds legit, it looks legit, it ran OK - uninstalling triggers an assault of viruses. If you still want an operating system, DO NOT download from windowsxpro.
- This article is a sham. Don't believe a word it says
- It's lies,IT'S FAKE AS HELL....!!
- I was interested at first...but from what this 'program' does is makes it clear that iPadian is nothing that can be used in any sense of the word 'function' and is just a simulator someone made to deliver malware payloads, now $5 for an ad-free scam version that probably lifts a bit or two from a couple of real emulators so all you can basically do is play Android apps on an iPad look.As of April 2015, Google STILL has this fraud listed as malware as it has since at least Dec '13, to which the developer said something about looking into alternatives - it is now a year later and it appears they haven't really cared. After all this time with the malware being flagged, I would be suspect if it didn't include a keylogger for when you go to log into anything.Save your money and time and just invest in an iPad screenshot collection to set as your screensaver if you're really desperate to see something that merely looks like an iPad but has the functionality of all those knock-off brands. Such as in this CNET review:'You know those gifts that are just one letter shy of being awesome like getting a Transfirmer, iPone, or a Ybox console from that person who just doesn't get it? This 'program' is one of those. It is almost a cool thing but really just a sucky knockoff of something that was a cool thing, making it worse than nothing at all. It doesn't really 'do' anything except pretend to do stuff. Like others have said a shortcut for an app will be a link to an app-ish webpage impersonation. The claim that it emulates anything is false. T'were it so I would be able to play an app store app within it and that is not at all possible. Please don't waste your time, and lots of it you will. Both the download and the script itself were painfully slow going. I am actually somewhat surprised to see this on here since dl.com usually maintains such a high level of standards. The only way you can consider this to simulate an iPad is for a person who has no idea what one should be like because they have been detached from technology.'
- please people help me i installed the program from Cent but when i search for an application it just doesn't search for anything
- Checking
- I am using Kaspersky Lab Anti Virus....
It fonded some viruses!
DON'T DOWNLOAD! - worst. its just a flash.
- I don't trust CNET, I'm leaving your blog.
- The direct download link of cnet says that there's a data corruption. Please send me a support.
- Morons. This has nothing to do with iOS. This is just some loser who made a fake interface that loads html5 apps.
- DON'T DOWNLOADI downloaded from the link provided (xpadian.com). I don't know why anyone is saying it 'doesn't install' because it did install and put a listing in my Programs and Features List that had to be uninstalled when I decided I didn't want it. During the install process, it comes up with a standard UI that allows you to skip past a program called MoboGenie and one called Value Apps. It allows you to choose the destination file location. BUT THEN DOES WHAT IT WANTS ANYWAY. Despite clicking 'Skip' on both of the suggested programs, it installed them both anyway and I had to remove them with MalwareBytes. Plus it installed them in a different location than the one I told it to.I don't even see a point in this program, so why would anyone bother. I guess maybe if you are absolutely in love with the IOS interface, but just fork out the money for a real Apple device. Before uninstalling, I browsed the 'App Store' and the only things in there are games and social media, all of which can be found in the Android store, half of which don't even work.So if you're trying to get tablet functionality into Windows, just use BlueStacks and use Android. BlueStacks just revolutionized my Windows 8 tablet. Instead of worrying about the crappy Windows 8 apps or trying to touch-screen everything through the desktop, I just switch to BlueStacks and get full access to my Android account. Full Android. Full Windows. It's the best of both worlds. If you're trying to get IOS functionality on a windows PC, don't bother. Until someone comes out with a true emulator, you won't get it. This program is malware and is a waste of your time anyway.
- Install iPadian if you want to load your computer with virus.
- Guys I know I shouldn't be posting this here, however I need help about the Bluestacks app player, when I'm installing it, it stops at the very end saying it can't recognize my Graphic card and that I should update it , and I have the latest driver available for my Samsung Notebook N220 Plus. so if anyone can guide about this problem please. Thanks!
- Mekki,You should post this question on MakeUseOf Answers.
- This is a question for the iPadian representative. I am looking for PC software to emulate iPad programs for reading magazines. I have an iPad but prefer to read on my large PC screen as I have limited vision. Many magazines are available for iPads, such as National Geographic, Science News, etc. I simply want to be able to read these materials on my large PC instead of the iPad. BTW, I do enjoy Kindle books on the computer and am thankful that there is an app for that. Maybe someday Kindle will make it so that iPad magazines can be read on the PC version of Kindle as well.
- iPadian.zip download from CNET.Malwarebytes Anti-Malware scan: No malicious items detected
AVG scan: No threats found - Hello,I hope you hare doing well. First of all thank you for writing about iPadian on Makeuseof. It would be very kind of you if you could clarify a couple of things in your article. We have released a new version that is called iPadian Game Player several months ago. You can find the link here gameplayer.ipadian.net. The link to CNET is an old link. That is the very first version of iPadian that we released in 2011 (if you look at the screenshot on CNET, you will notice how different the user interface is). Let me know if you have any question! And thank you in advance for the clarifications.Cheers,
iPadian Team
http://gameplayer.ipadian.net- Well, since you're commenting here, could you also clarify why the .rar download from your homepage comes packed with malware? Please see reader comments above for more details. We'd appreciate your response!
- Yeah, c'mon explain please....You won't get any downloaders from here unless you do clarify....I'm personally peeved at companies that try to infect others with their software: Is it to do with leading miserable, boring and pathetic lives?..... Clarify That.
- This is a misunderstanding. Two different products are available. The first is iPadian through the web address http://www.xpadian.com/, this is a free product and the things you can do with it are limited (app demos mainly). The team that took care of that product packaged it along with a third party add on to monetize the software. Sadly this third party add-on happens to be flagged by antiviruses, which only came to our attention recently. We are now working on alternatives. The second product iPadian Game Player™, and as the name suggests it is game oriented. We port the applications manually to get them to work on PC. It is 100% free of any malware or third party add-on.
- Thanks for explaining; sounds like a mess. The iPadian Game Player costs $14.99.
- When the iPhone first came out, and had just a few apps, and the Mac was doing OK but not great, I suggested to an Apple VP I was having lunch with that they should have a Mac-only emulator, fully sanctioned by Apple, that would run iOS Apps. My thinking was that it would increase use of both Mac and iOS by adding value to the whole ecosystem, and thus get users even more excited about doing business with Apple. Another thing Windows couldn't do....He looked at me and said STFU and we never spoke of it again.
- They already have that emulator and always have. It's built into the developer's toolkit.
- @XiTanYu:
No, that is not an emulator, it's a simulator. You can only use it to test your own apps that you develop, not to download apps from the app store and run them.It would be an excellent idea for OSX to fully emulate iOS and be able to run apps natively.
- HIPS/File-Mod009AppRider (adware)
- Downloaded from CNET... Sophos detected 2 problems, I would recommend not downloading.
- A great way to check our iOS Apps :)
- Adware supported software. Stay away from it. MUO, please warn us about adwares next time
- Apologies Shantonu! Our fault lay in linking to two alternate download sources and only testing one of them. The CNET direct download doesn't require installation and is malware free, as far as we can tell.
- The writer obviously didnt try the application out.. it does require an installation, tries to install unwanted software, and its a lame program at that.. do not install, if you do, make sure to read EVERYTHING CAREFULLY when INSTALLING!
- Douglas,Our fault lay in linking to two alternate download sources and only testing one of them. The CNET direct download only downloads a .zip archive and the contained iPadian.exe does note require installation. Moreover, it is malware free, as far as we can tell.I'm sorry that this download caused you trouble! Please accept my apology.
- My antivirus/anti-malware software (Norton's 360) flagged the installation as malware. Uninstalled.
- Please accept my sincere apologies for the bad link. Thank you for the warning.
- Beware......the APP icon directs you to download updated software from ipadian.net, which most likely will install infected software!!!!
- Here is the virus scan link.

- @Makeuseof ,
Malware alert
Please delete this stupid post ,and delete the link's .- Thanks for the warning. No issues here so far, but we will look into it. Do you remember what malware was detected?
- guys don't install from website . it is having malware ..be alert ..
- Thanks for the heads-up! I installed from CNet and my antivirus didn't detect anything, which might mean it's not good or sensitive enough. Might also be a false positive, though. Do you remember what malware was detected?
- That's surprising, I also installed it from CNet and my antivirus didn't detect anything. I have AVG and SpyBot Search & Destroy. Let me look into this.
- does it support jailbreak?
- What is the purpose of this app if it runs the same programs as Windows? Just to say it could be done? Seems like a waste of time to me.
- My antivirus/anti-malware packages were going nuts as I launched it. I aborted.
- Do you remember what was detected? Was it for iPadian itself?
- @TinaS when I got the application from Ipadian's own site, I got a few malware alerts about the installation wrapper around ipadian. The version from CNET works pretty well.
- Is it better than bluestacks?? i find bluestacks pretty glitchy...
- Giving it a try now
- It's not like Bluestacks since you cannot install apps from the iOS App Store or Google Play, you can only use iPadian's own app store.
- Unfortunately this is now classified as malware. Just do a search for the app's name and you'll see what I mean.
